Responsibilities
- Perform advanced system analysis, design, development, testing, implementation, and production support for applications and databases.
- Translate technical specifications into code and develop automated testing artifacts for complex projects.
- Lead backend optimization to improve performance, scalability, and responsiveness.
- Integrate data sources, APIs, third-party products, and services to improve system efficiency.
- Create and maintain backend architecture and technical documentation.
- Implement security, data protection, resilience, and enterprise architecture best practices.
- Collaborate with frontend and cross-functional teams to design backend interfaces and resolve systems issues.
- Deploy applications across development, test, and production environments and manage related change-control documentation.
- Participate in design, code, and test inspections and mentor less-experienced staff.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in software development, system integration, database design, and backend architecture.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, or a master’s degree/diploma in Computer Science.
- Expertise in server-side development, system integration, API management, database design, optimization, debugging, and performance tuning.
- Experience with REST, GraphQL, DB2, stored procedures, Java, Python, AWS, API development, Spring Boot, JavaScript, Angular, React, GitHub, Claude, OpenAI, and DynamoDB.
- Basic exposure to Splunk, Honeycomb, CloudWatch, PostgreSQL, pgAdmin, JSF, and Node.js.
- Knowledge of Confluence and Jira, with familiarity with Agile and process improvement.
- AWS Cloud Practitioner certification is preferred.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with cross-functional teams.
