Responsibilities
- Define the functionality and design of Snowflake’s next-generation streaming data platform with engineers and Product Managers.
- Drive long-term product and technology strategy, innovation, and industry trends.
- Own the future-state architecture for Dynamic Tables and other data-pipeline systems.
- Design and build highly reliable software for Snowflake’s largest customers.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to senior management and multiple departments.
- Ensure operational readiness and customer commitments for reliability, availability, and performance.
- Follow Snowflake’s confidentiality and security standards and protect customer information.
Requirements
- 14+ years of industry experience designing and building distributed data systems.
- Experience building enterprise-grade, reliable, and trustworthy software or services.
- Deep knowledge of foundational data systems and the ability to develop future-oriented technology.
- Ability to collaborate in a team environment and mentor junior engineers.
- Strong oral and written English language skills.
- Bonus experience with stream processing systems such as Flink, Beam, or Spark Streaming.
- Bonus experience with analytic database technologies, database or distributed-systems internals, large-scale distributed systems, transactions, consistency models, multi-tenant systems, and public or private cloud systems.
