Responsibilities
- Build reliable batch and streaming data pipelines and scalable data platforms.
- Integrate databases, APIs, data lakes, and data warehouses so data flows securely from source to application.
- Improve data quality and reliability through automated tests, monitoring, logging, metadata, and data lineage.
- Prepare structured and unstructured data for analytics, machine learning, RAG, reporting, and other AI applications.
- Deploy and operationalize solutions using software-engineering practices, CI/CD, documentation, and infrastructure as code.
- Coach and guide client teams so they can manage and further develop the delivered solutions.
- Collaborate with data engineers, AI engineers, data scientists, AI architects, Engineering Leads, and business consultants.
Requirements
- Strong foundation in Python and SQL, with the ability to write readable, testable, and maintainable code.
- Experience with data engineering through employment, internships, research, open source, or personal projects.
- Understanding of ETL and ELT, batch and streaming processing, and data lakes, lakehouses, or data warehouses.
- Systematic approach to reliability issues such as missing data, schema changes, delays, and failed processing.
- Interest in or experience with version control, testing, CI/CD, monitoring, and cloud environments.
- Ability to collaborate, seek feedback, review code, and clearly explain technical trade-offs to colleagues and clients.
- HBO-level or academic education in a technical or exact-science field, or an equivalent level gained through experience.
- Strong English communication skills; Dutch is important for some assignments.
- Relevant depth in part of the technology landscape is sufficient; experience with every listed technology is not required.
- Technical starters are welcome and receive intensive coaching.
