Responsibilities

  • Design and build integrations with Getty’s internal CMS APIs to connect content workflows with public-facing visitor experiences.
  • Architect and develop backend-for-frontend services powering Getty.edu, with emphasis on performance, flexibility, and developer usability.
  • Develop scalable front-end applications using Vue.js and modern JavaScript practices, focusing on interactions, load times, and rendering performance.
  • Build and maintain application-level services for real-time events, workflows, and dynamic user experiences.
  • Use and support established deployment pipelines and improve how the team writes, tests, and runs code locally.
  • Collaborate with UX researchers, designers, product stakeholders, and subject matter experts to deliver intuitive and accessible digital experiences.
  • Contribute to application design, implementation, testing, code reviews, and peer feedback.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or a combination of education and relevant experience.
  • 5–8 years of software development experience.
  • Experience with ES6 JavaScript, contemporary JavaScript practices, Vue.js, Vite, APIs, HTML, CSS, accessibility, unit testing, end-to-end testing, static-site generation tools, Git, and GitHub.
  • Working knowledge of server-side application development and coding practices.
  • Familiarity with CMS platforms and content API integrations.
  • Useful qualifications include design-system and software-design expertise, real-time event-driven application experience, Docker, AWS deployment environments, and spec-driven development.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with intellectual generosity, humility, curiosity, and interest in cultural heritage or digital visitor experiences.
