Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, implement, deploy, and maintain machine learning solutions and applications.
- Translate user and business requirements into technical specifications and scalable solutions.
- Develop Python applications and integrate machine learning models with AWS cloud and serverless services.
- Build and support user-facing applications, dashboards, interfaces, and machine learning-powered solutions.
- Apply machine learning algorithms, model evaluation, feature engineering, data processing, monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimization techniques.
- Perform root cause analysis and ongoing maintenance while following security, logging, performance, operational, release management, version control, and CI/CD practices.
- Collaborate with product, engineering, and business teams and follow BMO's risk management, policy, standards, and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
- Approximately 1–3 years of relevant experience, including professional work, co-op placements, internships, university projects, research initiatives, or graduate-level projects.
- Post-secondary degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, Mathematics, Engineering, AI, Machine Learning, or a related discipline.
- Strong understanding of machine learning algorithms, statistical modeling, model training, evaluation, feature engineering, optimization, and deployment.
- Experience developing applications with Python and familiarity with Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, or similar libraries.
- Exposure to AWS cloud technologies, serverless architectures, and services including Lambda, API Gateway, S3, IAM, CloudWatch, and SageMaker.
- Understanding of software engineering principles, testing methodologies, the software development lifecycle, and source control tools such as Git.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, debugging, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Preferred qualifications include SageMaker or machine learning deployment experience, user-facing application or dashboard development, APIs, microservices, cloud-native architectures, CI/CD, MLOps, Agile delivery, and a Master's degree or MBA with relevant projects.
