Responsibilities

  • Develop and code application software for traction and auxiliary converters using MATLAB and ControlBuild.
  • Translate functional requirements into detailed software specifications and maintain compliance with EN 50657 and EN 50128.
  • Manage software configuration and change control processes.
  • Participate in software design reviews, quality documentation, bench testing, and validation activities.
  • Collaborate with international teams on validation and reporting.
  • Support on-site commissioning, field testing, and troubleshooting.
  • Coordinate with traction control engineers and subcontractors as a technical software-development interface.
  • Report project progress, risks, and workload to engineering managers and organize development schedules around project milestones.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Software Engineering, Electronics, Control Systems, or a related engineering field.
  • Minimum two years of experience in real-time embedded software development.
  • Advanced experience with MATLAB, Simulink, and ControlBuild.
  • Familiarity with real-time embedded systems and software development environments.
  • Basic knowledge of power electronics and control systems.
  • Understanding of configuration and change-management tools.
  • Strong analytical, autonomous, and team-oriented working style.
  • Good spoken and written English communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel 40% of the time.
  • Knowledge of railway safety standards, electronics board architecture and software, and traction converter systems is preferred.
