Responsibilities
- Set and evolve the technical direction of the cloud network platform and contribute to broader technical standards.
- Plan, deploy, troubleshoot, and coordinate complex network projects across teams and stakeholders.
- Reduce platform complexity through simplification, consolidation, deprecation, paved roads, and cost optimization.
- Lead complex incident response, diagnosis, resolution, postmortems, and resulting technical debt strategy.
- Promote safe network changes through feature flags, gradual rollouts, monitoring, and rollback practices.
- Set quality standards for infrastructure automation, testing, code review, reusable modules, and maintainability.
- Define platform observability, monitoring, controls, and service-level agreements.
- Own the network security posture, including segmentation, PCI DSS or equivalent standards, and audit-ready controls.
- Evaluate buy-versus-build decisions and new technologies based on stability, reliability, scalability, and cost.
- Participate in hiring, cross-functional taskforces, technical initiatives, and documentation of architectural decisions.
Requirements
- CCIE, CCNP, or equivalent experience designing, building, implementing, maintaining, and troubleshooting complex large-scale networking infrastructures.
- Hands-on experience with infrastructure automation and cloud computing, preferably AWS, including AWS networking services.
- Experience with Transit Gateway, VPC design, Direct Connect, PrivateLink, Route 53, NAT and egress patterns, and network firewalls or equivalent technologies.
- Experience planning, deploying, and troubleshooting IP address management, BGP and dynamic routing, firewalls, load balancers, routers, switches, and hybrid connectivity at scale.
- Strong coding skills in Python, .NET, Java, Go, or similar languages.
- Experience leading incident response and root-cause analysis for high-impact failures across team boundaries.
- Ability to lead ambiguous, strategically important projects with or without formal authority.
- Strong communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences across teams and time zones.
- Strategic and analytical approach connecting network platform decisions to operational efficiency, reliability, cost, and organizational strategy.
- English proficiency sufficient to read, write, and lead discussions across time zones and language boundaries.
