Responsibilities

  • Set and evolve the technical direction of Nubank’s cloud network platform and contribute to broader technical standards.
  • Lead high- and low-level architecture for multi-account, multi-region, multi-geo, and hybrid-cloud connectivity.
  • Manage complex network projects and processes end to end across teams and stakeholders.
  • Reduce platform complexity through simplification, consolidation, deprecation, paved roads, and cost optimization.
  • Own operational health, including incident response, diagnosis, resolution, postmortems, and technical debt strategy.
  • Promote safe network changes through feature flags, gradual rollouts, monitoring, and rollback practices.
  • Set quality standards for infrastructure automation and code, including testing, code review, and reusable modules.
  • Define platform observability, monitoring, controls, and service-level agreements.
  • Own the network security posture, including segmentation, PCI DSS or equivalent standards, and audit-ready controls.
  • Evaluate build-versus-buy options and new technologies based on stability, reliability, scalability, and cost.
  • Mentor IC4 and IC5 engineers and participate in hiring, taskforces, and technical documentation.

Requirements

  • CCIE, CCNP, or equivalent experience designing, building, implementing, maintaining, and troubleshooting complex large-scale networks.
  • Hands-on infrastructure automation and cloud computing experience, preferably with AWS and AWS networking services.
  • Deep experience with IP address management, BGP, dynamic routing, firewalls, load balancers, routers, switches, and hybrid connectivity.
  • Strong coding skills in Python, .NET, Java, Go, or comparable languages.
  • Experience leading incident response and root-cause analysis for high-impact, ambiguous failures across teams.
  • Ability to lead complex projects strategically with or without formal authority.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strategic and analytical ability to connect network platform decisions with reliability, efficiency, cost, and organizational goals.
  • English proficiency for communication across time zones and language boundaries.
