Responsibilities
- Set and evolve the technical direction of the cloud network platform and contribute to broader engineering standards.
- Design connectivity patterns across multi-account, multi-region, multi-geo, hybrid-cloud, and on-premises environments.
- Manage complex network projects and processes end to end across teams and stakeholders.
- Simplify, consolidate, deprecate, and create paved roads while balancing scalability, maintainability, and cost.
- Lead complex incident response, diagnosis, resolution, postmortems, and resulting technical debt strategy.
- Define safe rollout practices, monitoring, rollback procedures, observability, controls, and service-level agreements.
- Set quality standards for automation and infrastructure code, including testing, code review, and reusable modules.
- Own the network security posture, segmentation, audit controls, and PCI DSS or equivalent compliance.
- Evaluate buy-versus-build options and new technologies based on stability, reliability, scalability, and cost.
- Mentor IC4 and IC5 engineers, participate in hiring, support cross-functional initiatives, and document technical decisions.
Requirements
- CCIE, CCNP, or equivalent experience designing, building, implementing, maintaining, and troubleshooting complex large-scale networking infrastructures.
- Hands-on experience with infrastructure automation, cloud computing, and AWS networking services such as Transit Gateway, VPC, Direct Connect, PrivateLink, Route 53, NAT/egress patterns, and network firewalls.
- Deep experience planning, deploying, and troubleshooting network solutions at scale, including IP address management, BGP, dynamic routing, firewalls, load balancers, routers, switches, and hybrid connectivity.
- Strong coding skills in Python, .NET, Java, Go, or similar languages.
- Experience leading incident response and root-cause analysis for high-impact failures across team boundaries.
- Ability to lead ambiguous, strategically important projects with or without formal authority.
- Strong communication skills with technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strategic and analytical approach connecting network platform decisions to organizational efficiency, reliability, cost, and longer-term strategy.
- English proficiency for reading, writing, and leading discussions across time zones and language boundaries.
