Responsibilities
- Identify and plan future prevention for production incidents.
- Design globally distributed systems and processes for the organization.
- Identify and correct deficiencies in applications and infrastructure.
- Define tailored solutions to complex technical problems and communicate them effectively to teammates.
- Make significant technology contributions that may result in patents, trade secrets, publications, or presentations.
- Translate strategic goals into operational plans.
- Coordinate work across functional boundaries.
- Potentially lead larger subprojects or entire small projects.
Requirements
- A BS, MS, PhD, or equivalent qualification plus eight years of experience.
- Proficiency coding in multiple or unfamiliar programming languages, including examples such as Python, Ruby, and JavaScript.
- Experience architecting intricate, high-scale patterns in AWS.
- Experience architecting repeatable workflows for continuous integration and continuous deployment, with GitLab preferred.
- Ability to understand, debug, and explain complex distributed systems.
- AWS Cloud Certification at the Associate level.
- Strong communication, documentation, time-management, and self-management skills.
- Training in secure coding practices is preferred.
- AWS Cloud Certification at the Professional level is preferred.
- GCP or Azure experience is preferred.
- Experience working for a public company is preferred.
- Open-source contributions or technical blog experience is preferred.
