Responsibilities
- Design sophisticated software components, services, and platforms and produce and review design documentation.
- Lead project delivery to production, including writing high-quality code, unit, functional, and performance tests, and end-to-end deployment pipelines.
- Integrate software with distributed systems and shared APIs and improve service reusability and resiliency.
- Develop features, improve software performance, and provide technical support to other teams.
- Partner with product management, data science, UX design, and other multifunctional teams.
- Hire, mentor, and develop junior software engineers and peers while sharing technical expertise.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to software engineering best practices.
- Identify and resolve platform-related issues and support security, software licensing, and regulatory audits.
- Implement controls and procedures to address compliance gaps and risks.
- Design and scale infrastructure services and support production systems through on-call rotations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 10+ years of software development experience focused on platform or service engineering.
- 10+ years of experience working on production systems, including support through on-call rotations.
- Expertise in at least one of C#, Python, or TypeScript for cross-platform development.
- Expertise in systems design, secure and maintainable code, software engineering practices, testing, operations, and end-to-end production delivery.
- Expertise building and scaling infrastructure services with Amazon Web Services or Microsoft Azure.
- Expertise with cloud infrastructure services such as identity platforms, networking, storage, databases, containers, and serverless technologies.
- Expertise solving large-scale distributed production-system problems and designing data models and databases.
- Knowledge of relational, graph, document, and key-value databases and expert SQL ability.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, collaboration, risk-management, and independent-working abilities.
- Professional proficiency in English; Portuguese proficiency is preferred.
