Base Salary
$240k - $300k/yr
Responsibilities
- Partner with the head of engineering as a technical thought partner across multiple concurrent initiatives.
- Provide hands-on technical guidance on architecture decisions with cross-team consequences.
- Introduce effective AI-assisted engineering practices while maintaining human judgment and engineering quality.
- Lead a community of practice for senior engineers and tech leads.
- Evaluate emerging tools, techniques, and architectural patterns and provide actionable recommendations to engineering leadership.
- Shape product priorities and success measures using data and instrumentation.
- Contribute hands-on to critical initiatives from early design through production.
- Translate platform consolidation, identity and access modernization, and AI tooling strategy into actionable team guidance.
- Mentor senior engineers and technical leads and build shared technical standards across teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- At least eight years of professional software engineering experience with demonstrated staff-level or equivalent cross-team impact.
- Proven ability to influence technical direction and align multiple teams without direct management authority.
- Hands-on production experience with AI-assisted development tools and sound judgment about their appropriate use.
- Experience mentoring senior engineers and technical leads and establishing shared technical standards.
- Strong system design and architecture fundamentals with the ability to work across different parts of a stack.
- Experience partnering with a head of engineering, director, or vice president in an advisory or thought-partner capacity is preferred.
- Experience with identity and access platforms such as Auth0 or Okta, survey or assessment-driven products, or large-scale platform migrations is preferred.
