Responsibilities

  • Own the architecture and enterprise rollout of the AI platform across the product organization.
  • Build and operate model infrastructure, including model gardens, cost controls, model tiering, and fallback models.
  • Establish identity federation, SSO, IAM, tenant isolation, security, compliance, and observability foundations.
  • Create a self-service agent factory with templates, patterns, and in-IDE guardrails.
  • Design and build agent workflows for ideation, development, deployment, monitoring, evaluation, and quality management.
  • Build interoperable agents using cross-platform contracts, schema and intent mapping, and cross-perimeter authentication.
  • Develop reference agents, RAG pipelines, integrations, and MCP connectors while debugging difficult retrieval and generation issues.
  • Lead and mentor engineers, define technical standards and guardrails, influence cross-functional stakeholders, and manage external delivery partners.
  • Drive adoption of enterprise AI tools through training, support, and measurable productivity improvements.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of software engineering experience and 4+ years in a technical lead or staff-level role.
  • Current hands-on coding ability with proficiency in Python and at least one other modern programming language.
  • Production experience designing and operating AI/ML or LLM-based systems such as agents, RAG, or prompt and evaluation pipelines.
  • Deep familiarity with Google Vertex AI, Gemini, IAM, networking, observability, and cost management.
  • Experience building developer-facing platforms or internal tooling and driving adoption through training and support.
  • Experience integrating systems through APIs and connectors, with authentication and identity federation experience including OAuth, SSO, or workload identity.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead technical initiatives across teams and influence without authority.
  • Strong communication skills with both engineering and non-technical business stakeholders.
  • Preferred experience with Gemini Enterprise, Vertex AI, NotebookLM, agent development kits, A2A protocols, MCP, tool or function calling, LLM gateways, LiteLLM, model cost optimization, and multi-model fallback strategies.
  • Preferred familiarity with systems integrators, Jira, Confluence, Figma, GitHub, AI coding assistants, AI governance, guardrails, data privacy, and enterprise compliance.
