Base Salary

$176k - $235k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Own the analysis, design, programming, debugging, modification, testing, and implementation of software improvements, products, systems, and applications.
  • Lead sophisticated, scalable software projects and influence their design, development priorities, estimation, planning, and budget allocation.
  • Define and enforce reference architecture standards across shipboard solutions in an on-premise environment.
  • Develop modernization and replacement strategies for bespoke and aging systems, leading technical execution across teams.
  • Champion engineering excellence, standardization, continuous improvement, collaboration, and knowledge sharing across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Define and integrate AI tooling into the engineering side of the Software Development Life Cycle and establish adoption best practices.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and make informed technical recommendations while partnering with product, security, operations, and project management teams.

Requirements

  • At least 10 years of related work experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or a comparable field, and/or equivalent work experience.
  • Deep expertise in Flutter, native iOS/Android development, Java, Angular, Node.js, RESTful API design, on-premise infrastructure management, data standardization principles, and microservices architecture.
  • Strong communication, leadership, collaboration, mentoring, and team-influence abilities.
  • Preferred experience includes cruise, hospitality, travel, shipboard, or remote operational environments.
  • Preferred experience includes large-scale legacy-system migration, geographically dispersed or cross-functional team leadership, Docker, Kubernetes, on-premise orchestration, cybersecurity, data privacy, real-time data processing, resilient system design, and intermittent-connectivity environments.
  • Preferred experience includes applying AI/ML concepts or tooling to software development processes such as code generation, testing, and analysis.
  • A master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field and relevant architecture, cloud platform, or AI/ML certifications are preferred.
