Base Salary
$236k - $277k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and build backend services, primarily in Go, Java, and Python, for AI and model inference on real-time data.
- Own features end to end, including design, stakeholder alignment, technical decisions, and delivery.
- Make technical decisions for systems spanning model lifecycle, inference routing, and agent execution.
- Own code quality, test coverage, documentation, operability, reliability, and rollout safety for production inference infrastructure.
- Improve team effectiveness through code reviews, design feedback, and leadership on ambiguous cross-cutting work.
- Participate in on-call for the services owned by the team and help maintain healthy team processes and rituals.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience designing, building, and operating distributed systems or cloud-native backend infrastructure in production.
- Strong working knowledge of Kubernetes, distributed-systems patterns, control loops, API servers, high-scale control planes, containerization, networking, and resource isolation.
- Proficiency in at least one of Go, Java, or Python, with willingness to work across all three.
- Track record of leading cross-team technical work and turning ambiguous requirements into aligned designs.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to write design documents that align stakeholders who do not report to you.
- Exposure to model serving, LLM or agent infrastructure, or streaming data systems is an advantage.
- ML research or model training experience is not required.
