Base Salary
$191k - $267k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop and design solutions that scale Reddit
- Build platform API projects for organization-wide use
- Mentor and coach junior engineers
- Build, deliver, and operate services handling hundreds of thousands of transactions per second with five or more nines of availability
- Optimize Reddit’s media experience and help shape the engineering roadmap
Requirements
- Software development experience in Golang or Python
- 5+ years of experience with large-scale, mission-critical distributed systems
- Familiarity with API platform service architectures
- Experience building clean, maintainable, and well-tested code
- Media delivery expertise spanning backend systems through the user, including media performance, scalability, and delivery optimization
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical audiences in a fully remote environment
