Responsibilities
- Build and evolve Java microservices powering digital pathology workflows.
- Develop functionality for image ingestion, clinical case management, algorithm orchestration, and third-party integrations.
- Design, develop, deploy, and maintain cloud-native applications on AWS.
- Own features and projects from conception through deployment and maintenance.
- Troubleshoot complex issues in distributed systems and maintain high code quality.
- Use AI tools and agents for refactoring, code generation, unit tests, documentation, pull request descriptions, and bug investigation.
- Collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders in a distributed agile squad.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of professional Java software development experience.
- Deep knowledge of core Java, including Java 17+ features, JVM internals, memory management, and concurrency.
- Extensive experience with Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data JPA, and Spring Security.
- Proven experience designing, developing, and deploying microservices-based applications.
- Hands-on AWS experience and proficiency with SQL databases, specifically PostgreSQL.
- Experience with unit, integration, and end-to-end testing, including JUnit and Mockito.
- Advanced Git proficiency, including branching strategies and code reviews.
- Strong understanding of RESTful API design and development.
- Commitment to clean code, SOLID principles, and software engineering best practices.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, ownership, autonomy, and collaboration skills.
- Fluent English.
- An AI-first mindset and ability to use prompt engineering and AI agents effectively in software development.
