Responsibilities
- Own the architecture and technical roadmap of a shared performance-testing platform across multiple teams and POS branches.
- Design, build, and maintain reusable performance-testing frameworks and components using Gatling, Locust, Scala, Python, Docker, and AWS.
- Design and execute performance-testing strategies for high-load, distributed, and cloud-hosted systems, including iOS and Android applications.
- Build and improve CI/CD and test-orchestration pipelines using Jenkins, Groovy, and related technologies.
- Improve test-data setup, environment provisioning, results analysis, and performance-issue root-cause analysis.
- Provide technical guidance to Automation Engineers and establish framework standards and best practices.
- Troubleshoot complex performance issues and drive remediation.
- Analyze load, stress, spike, soak, and endurance testing results using observability and analytics tools.
Requirements
- 5+ years of software engineering experience, ideally including hands-on performance or load testing.
- Strong Python programming experience and experience with Scala or the ability to work across both languages.
- Hands-on experience testing APIs and distributed cloud-hosted systems.
- Practical experience with AWS or another major cloud platform and Docker.
- Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins or TeamCity, including Groovy pipeline scripting.
- Experience designing and executing performance-test strategies for iOS and Android applications and understanding mobile performance metrics.
- Experience with shared testing frameworks or engineering platforms used by multiple teams is preferred.
- Experience with Gatling or Locust, Kibana or Grafana, POS, retail, or enterprise-scale distributed systems is a bonus.
- Experience mentoring or providing technical leadership to other engineers is a bonus.
