Responsibilities
- Own and evolve the architecture and roadmap of a shared performance testing platform.
- Design, build, and maintain reusable performance testing components and frameworks using Gatling, Scala, Python, and Locust.
- Build and improve test orchestration, environment provisioning, reporting, and CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Groovy, Docker, and AWS.
- Define technical standards and performance testing best practices and provide code reviews, technical guidance, and mentorship.
- Troubleshoot performance, framework, and environment issues, lead root-cause analysis, and use data to validate improvements.
- Design and execute performance testing strategies for iOS and Android applications and evaluate mobile performance metrics.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of software engineering experience, ideally including performance, load, or scalability testing.
- Strong Python programming skills and Scala experience or willingness to work with both languages.
- Hands-on experience testing REST APIs and distributed, cloud-hosted systems.
- Practical experience with AWS or another major cloud platform and Docker.
- Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins or TeamCity, including Groovy pipeline scripting.
- Preferred experience with shared internal testing frameworks or platforms, performance observability and analytics tools such as Kibana or Grafana, and load, stress, spike, soak, and endurance testing.
- Experience with POS, retail, or enterprise-scale distributed systems and technical leadership or mentorship is a bonus.
