Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain secure, performant Windows desktop applications for NETGEAR’s security platform.
- Implement VPN connectivity, secure tunneling, ZTNA access, and advanced networking features using native Windows capabilities and VPN protocols.
- Collaborate with backend engineering, product management, UX/UI design, and QA teams to deliver desktop features.
- Apply security practices for application signing, sandboxing, secure installation, data protection, authentication, and Windows platform compliance.
- Write modular, testable code and own unit and integration test coverage, automated testing, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Conduct code reviews, mentor junior developers, debug and optimize applications, and help establish the Windows client’s technical direction.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field.
- 5–8 years of professional Windows desktop application development experience using C#, .NET, Win32, and WPF.
- Hands-on PowerShell experience and experience with Windows networking APIs and system-level frameworks including Windows Filtering Platform and WinINet.
- Experience with certificate-based authentication, Windows Hello or biometrics, and OS-level security APIs.
- Familiarity with WireGuard or IPSec and experience implementing secure tunnels or endpoint network clients.
- Experience with Windows application packaging, code signing, and deployment using tools such as WiX Toolset, MSI, MSIX, or ClickOnce.
- Strong understanding of desktop security practices, secure storage, encryption, sandboxing, Windows Credential Manager, DPAPI, and user authentication.
- Experience designing and maintaining automated test suites with .NET frameworks such as xUnit or NUnit, including mocking and test coverage.
- Experience working with backend APIs and service-based architectures, debugging, profiling, and performance optimization.
- Preferred experience with Electron, Qt, Flutter Desktop, Microsoft Intune, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, TeamCity, Sentry, or App Center.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills in agile, cross-functional teams.
