Base Salary

$169k - $280k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Define and maintain architectural principles, standards, best practices, and reference architectures for enterprise AI platforms and AI-enabled products.
  • Guide strategic decisions involving AI platforms, cloud providers, model hosting, vector databases, orchestration frameworks, AI infrastructure, and build-versus-buy evaluations.
  • Lead architecture reviews covering system design, scalability, resiliency, interoperability, security, compliance, and cost optimization.
  • Establish enterprise AI integration patterns, architecture standards, governance frameworks, and operational processes.
  • Architect scalable production-grade AI/ML, generative AI, agentic, multimodal, and autonomous AI systems.
  • Develop strategies for LLM selection and routing, RAG pipelines, memory systems, tool and function calling, and reusable AI platform capabilities.
  • Advise division and domain architects and help establish an enterprise AI solutions architecture practice.
  • Promote responsible AI through ethics, bias mitigation, governance, regulatory alignment, and model risk management.
  • Track and communicate AI platform, foundation model, agentic framework, and autonomous-system roadmaps and competitive insights.
  • Collaborate with senior leaders, build consensus across teams, mentor colleagues, and strengthen the architecture community.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, a related STEM field, or equivalent education and/or work experience.
  • At least 7 additional years of architecture/software engineering experience and 2 years of technical leadership experience.
  • 8 to 10 years of architecture experience is stated for the ideal candidate.
  • Advanced architecture capability and recent hands-on engineering experience with modern technologies and large-scale technology strategies.
  • Proven experience defining scalable, production-grade AI systems, including distributed and parallel-processing architectures.
  • Hands-on AI/ML development and deployment experience, including ML algorithms, neural networks, optimization, MLOps, and AI Ops.
  • Strong knowledge of linear algebra, statistics, probability, transformer architectures, LLMs, prompt engineering, fine-tuning, and RLHF.
  • Experience with autonomous AI systems, planning and reasoning, reinforcement learning, decision-making, agentic patterns, RAG, vector databases, and multi-agent orchestration.
  • Experience with MCP, Agent2Agent, agent orchestration frameworks, AI development tools, and cloud AI services.
  • Knowledge of AI ethics, bias mitigation, responsible AI, EU AI Act, GDPR, AI governance, and model risk management.
  • Advanced leadership, communication, collaboration, mentoring, strategic planning, transformational-change, roadmap, and business-acumen skills.
  • Insurance technology and strong insurance-industry knowledge are preferred.
