Responsibilities
- Develop strategies for acquiring research data from scientific laboratory instruments.
- Build and operationalize custom parsers for XLSX, PDF, TXT, RAW, FID, and proprietary vendor binary formats.
- Architect data models, scalable data pipelines, modular utility libraries, and unit and integration tests.
- Compare datasets from similar instruments or workflows to design shared and extensible data model components.
- Create visualizations, reports, and interactive dashboards using Streamlit, Tableau, Jupyter Notebook, and other platforms.
- Communicate technical product details effectively with product management and engineering while taking ownership of project delivery.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience building solutions as a Data Engineer or in a similar field.
- At least 3 years of experience working with Python and SQL focused on data.
- Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and confidence in managing project delivery.
- Ability to quickly understand highly technical products and communicate with product management and engineering.
- A degree in biology, chemistry, or a relevant field, or more than 3 years of pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry experience in scientific data engineering, data modeling, or data analytics.
- Exposure to DevOps practices in cloud environments is preferred.
- Some React experience is preferred.
- Experience with Streamlit, Tableau, and Jupyter Notebook is a plus.
- Interest in applying AI and LLMs to data problems is preferred.
