Responsibilities
- Envision, champion, and support novel ML systems, product integrations, and performance optimizations for real-world problems.
- Work with product, design, and engineering partners to design and build efficient AI solutions for Airbnb Community Support products.
- Develop and enhance AI models, ML services, and tools including LLM fine-tuning and optimization, RAG/search, LLM evaluation and testing automation, feedback-based learning, and guardrails.
- Shape early-stage ideas from inception through production and share emerging AI/ML technologies with teams across China and the US.
Requirements
- PhD or master’s degree, preferably in computer science, or equivalent experience.
- At least 4 years of machine-learning engineering experience with ownership of large-scale software systems.
- Experience designing and developing AI and ML systems and services and building efficient, scalable ML-powered products.
- Experience with LLM-driven chatbot and agentic AI products is preferred.
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Fluency in both English and Mandarin is essential.
