AI Engineer - Forward Deployed Engineer
InformaticaResponsibilities
- Design, build, deploy, validate, and observe agentic AI solutions in enterprise customer environments.
- Develop AI agents and experiences using prompts, reasoning, tool calls, integrations, and Salesforce’s Agentic AI platform.
- Own technical components end-to-end, from architecture decisions through production deployment.
- Build and integrate data pipelines using Salesforce Data 360, Snowflake, Databricks, and customer data platforms.
- Model data, validate pipeline outputs, and maintain agent performance dashboards and customer KPI reporting.
- Contribute to proofs of concept and MVPs that progress rapidly from concept to deployment.
- Co-build solutions with customers and partners while sharing best practices and enablement.
- Surface platform gaps, edge cases, and field insights to engineering and product teams.
- Partner with Deployment Strategists to translate customer challenges into deployable agentic solutions.
- Experiment with emerging AI tools, models, and frameworks and share learnings with teams and customers.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of software engineering or technical delivery experience.
- At least one production system that can be discussed in detail, ideally involving AI technology, full-stack development, or frontier models.
- A degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Prior customer-facing technical delivery experience in consulting, professional services, or forward deployed engineering.
- Fluency in at least one of Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, or Apex.
- Hands-on experience with large language models and prompt engineering.
- Strong understanding of data modeling, APIs, and integration patterns.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with sales teams and customer architects.
- Ability to ship quality code and evaluate AI outputs with engineering rigor.
- Curiosity about evolving AI and data technologies and willingness to experiment with new tools and models.
- Salesforce platform experience or certifications, including Administrator, Platform Developer I, or Agentforce Specialist, is preferred.
- Familiarity with LangChain, LlamaIndex, orchestration patterns, Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, data engineering, platform architecture, or headless deployments is preferred.
