Base Salary
$110k - $140k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build robust, performant, user-facing web applications in Python and Django supporting millions of daily users.
- Develop and ship functionality for user interaction and scientific data visualization using modern APIs and frameworks.
- Collaborate as part of an agile product team to deliver a high-quality user experience.
- Deliver responsive, accessible, mobile-friendly code with automated testing, building, and deployment.
- Work effectively with user researchers, designers, product managers, scientists, security engineers, and DevOps engineers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a scientific field such as engineering or physics, or equivalent experience.
- At least three years of full-stack web application development experience using Python, Django, and ReactJS.
- Understanding of JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
- Experience with relational database modeling and data migration.
- Understanding of accessibility and security compliance.
- Experience with version control systems such as Git or SVN.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
- Preferred experience developing Django web applications and services.
- Preferred experience with JavaScript frameworks such as Angular and ReactJS.
- Preferred experience using web services and APIs.
- Familiarity with search engines and backends such as Lucene and Solr.
- Knowledge of semantic markup and modern web layout techniques.
- Experience with automated regression testing using Selenium.
- Proficiency with Git version control and familiarity with agile development processes.
