Base Salary
$91k - $130k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and develop software aligned with system and subsystem requirements.
- Maintain and expand Trip Optimizer® functionality and implement defect fixes.
- Perform root cause analysis and develop solutions for identified issues.
- Create software design, requirements, process, and architecture documentation.
- Participate in software architecture, design, and code reviews.
- Execute and enhance the software development lifecycle.
- Create and maintain automated unit tests for new designs.
- Investigate and remediate cybersecurity vulnerabilities.
- Collaborate with design, systems engineering, validation engineering, and the broader business unit to deliver quality software on schedule.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- At least 7 years of C/C++ software development experience.
- Proficiency in software design, methods, and architecture approaches.
- Knowledge of software engineering principles.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- Ability to lead with minimal supervision.
- Prior project leadership experience with large-scale software projects is desired.
- Railroad industry experience and a master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field are desired.
