Responsibilities

  • Own Architectural Decision Records and participate in the Architecture Review Board.
  • Define architecture patterns, integration contracts, non-functional requirements, and platform standards.
  • Produce C4, component, sequence, threat-model, and other architecture artefacts.
  • Design RESTful and event-driven APIs and integrations with payment, identity, regulatory, and operator systems.
  • Provide technical governance for CI/CD pipelines, environment architecture, and deployment strategies.
  • Prototype solutions and contribute to performance, load-testing, resilience, observability, and security initiatives.
  • Mentor architects and engineers, communicate technical decisions to business and delivery stakeholders, and support technical hiring assessments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or demonstrably equivalent experience.
  • At least 7 years of software engineering experience, including at least 3 years in an explicit architecture role.
  • End-to-end ownership of architectural decisions, including discovery, option analysis, ADR documentation, and post-implementation review.
  • Strong Java and Spring Boot experience designing cloud-native microservices at scale.
  • Experience designing and operating event-driven systems with Kafka or equivalent messaging platforms.
  • Hands-on exposure to API gateways and federated API management across multiple consumer profiles.
  • Experience in regulated or compliance-driven environments such as gaming, fintech, or payments.
  • Experience with architecture governance processes such as ARB, design authority, or technical steering.
  • Ability to independently produce C4 diagrams, ADRs, threat models, and NFR matrices.
  • AWS, Azure, or GCP certifications are valued but do not replace practical architecture experience.
