Software Engineer II - Java
JPMorgan ChaseResponsibilities
- Design, develop, code, and troubleshoot secure software components with limited guidance.
- Write and maintain high-quality Java and other programming-language code in an enterprise environment.
- Use and critically validate enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development tools for coding, testing, troubleshooting, and documentation.
- Consider upstream and downstream systems and technical implications when implementing solutions.
- Apply SDLC tools, processes, automation, and troubleshooting practices to solve technical problems.
- Analyze large and diverse data sets to identify application issues and support decision-making.
- Develop and deploy microservices using AWS infrastructure and Terraform when applicable.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 2+ years of applied experience.
- Hands-on practical experience with Java and experience developing, debugging, and maintaining enterprise code.
- Experience with modern programming languages, database querying languages, and the full Software Development Life Cycle.
- Hands-on experience using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools and validating their outputs.
- Understanding of responsible AI use, data sensitivity, secure input and output handling, resiliency, and security expectations.
- Preferred experience includes full-stack Java enterprise application development, Java 17+, microservices, AWS Elastic Kubernetes Service, AWS Elastic Container Service, EC2, Terraform, and relational databases such as Oracle or PostgreSQL.
