  • Encode quality gates, security scanning, policy checks, and supply-chain standards in templates and pipelines.
  • Define how AI agents and assistants operate in the software development lifecycle, including access controls, review, traceability, approval, and governance.
  • Build secure agent-facing interfaces such as MCP servers for exposing catalogs, pipelines, and infrastructure to AI agents.
  • Evolve cloud and Kubernetes infrastructure and expand self-service provisioning with Terraform, declarative APIs, and pull requests.
  • Improve local development, preview environments, test feedback time, pipeline duration, observability, and developer adoption.
  • Gather developer feedback, document solutions, and maintain tested, versioned, and maintainable platform code.

  • Experience with Kubernetes, GitOps using Argo CD or Flux, and Terraform in a major cloud environment.
  • Experience with CI/CD and release engineering, including pipeline templates, environment promotion, safe rollouts, and rollbacks.
  • Regular use of AI coding tools and a considered perspective on their role in the software development lifecycle.
  • Working knowledge of observability concepts including traces, metrics, logs, and SLOs.
  • Ability to lead initiatives and build from scratch with minimal direction while remaining hands-on.
  • Preferred qualifications include custom Backstage plugin development, Backstage at scale, MCP servers, agent tooling, LLM integration, AI-generated code governance, OPA, Kyverno, SBOMs, artifact signing, DORA metrics, developer satisfaction measurement, ephemeral environments, and regulated or financial-services delivery experience.
