
Lead Software Engineer – Python, AWS, Agentic AI (ADK/LangGraph)

Responsibilities
- Lead the technical design and implementation of software solutions, including architecture, component design, and integration patterns.
- Own hands-on delivery, operation, and maintenance of production AI and agentic applications using ADK and LangGraph.
- Define and implement REST and contract-first API design standards using FastAPI or equivalent technologies.
- Write secure, high-quality Python and other production code and support engineering standards through code and design reviews.
- Design, develop, troubleshoot, and improve production systems for performance, resiliency, and operational readiness.
- Build and maintain AI application quality controls and production guardrails.
- Partner with Product, Security, SRE, and peer engineering teams to deliver reliable APIs and services.
- Drive improvements to the SDLC toolchain, including test automation, security scanning, and dependency management.
- Lead technical discussions and align stakeholders on design trade-offs, delivery plans, and risk management.
Requirements
- Expert-level Python proficiency and strong experience building enterprise backend services.
- Hands-on production experience building, operating, and maintaining AI applications with ADK and LangGraph.
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and at least 6 years of applied experience, or equivalent experience.
- Strong experience with system design, application development, testing, and operational stability for production services.
- Experience designing and implementing APIs with FastAPI or equivalent, including REST services and microservices.
- Strong understanding of software design principles and patterns and their application in production systems.
- Experience with relational databases such as Postgres and strong SQL fundamentals.
- Ability to code in one or more languages, learn new technologies, and guide others in engineering best practices.
- Experience developing, debugging, and maintaining software in a large corporate environment.
- Understanding of application resiliency, performance engineering, security-by-design, and related engineering practices.
- Ability to lead technical discussions and drive alignment across stakeholders.
- Preferred: hands-on experience building and operating cloud applications on AWS.
- Preferred: familiarity with containers and CI/CD practices in production environments.
