Responsibilities
- Implement and support improvements that increase efficiency, software quality, and delivery speed.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and apply DevOps best practices across development and operations.
- Manage AWS infrastructure using Terraform, Kubernetes, Helm, containers, and GitOps principles.
- Use monitoring tools to support system reliability and performance.
- Manage database schema changes, including through tools such as Liquibase.
- Translate stakeholder and business requirements into technical implementations.
- Act as a business subject-matter expert and facilitate knowledge transfer.
- Negotiate with and influence stakeholders to ensure effective service operation and prioritization.
- Collaborate with Development, QA, IT Operations, InfoSec, and UCD teams.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience working as a DevOps Engineer.
- Strong knowledge of AWS and experience creating and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with Terraform, Kubernetes, Helm, and containerization.
- Experience with Java.
- Experience with multiple database ecosystems, architecture, and integration.
- Experience with monitoring tools for system reliability and performance.
- Experience with database schema change management, such as Liquibase.
- Knowledge of GitOps principles.
- Public-sector or central-government experience is beneficial.
- Willingness to travel.
- Right to work in the UK.
- Ability to attain UK Security Clearance.
- Strong communication, stakeholder-management, negotiation, and influencing skills.
