Responsibilities
- Manage system uptime across AWS, GCP, and hybrid architectures.
- Build infrastructure-as-code patterns using Terraform, cloud CLI scripting, and cloud SDK programming.
- Develop CI/CD pipelines for application and cloud architecture build, test, and deployment workflows using Jenkins and cloud-native toolchains.
- Create automated tooling for production service changes and develop detailed runbooks for detection, remediation, and service restoration.
- Triage complex distributed-architecture service maps, participate in on-call response for high-severity incidents, and improve runbooks to reduce MTTR.
- Lead availability-focused blameless postmortems and own actions to prevent recurrence.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related technical field involving coding, such as physics or mathematics, or equivalent job experience.
- 5–7 years of experience in software engineering, systems administration, database administration, and networking.
- At least 2 years of experience developing or administering software in a public cloud.
- Experience monitoring infrastructure and application uptime and availability against functional and performance objectives.
- Experience with languages such as Python, Bash, Java, Go, JavaScript, and Node.js.
- Cross-functional knowledge of systems, storage, networking, security, and databases.
- System administration and automation experience with Linux or Windows using Terraform, Chef, Ansible, and/or containers such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Proficiency with continuous integration and continuous delivery tooling and practices.
- Cloud certification is strongly preferred.
- Preferred capabilities include DevSecOps, operational excellence, systems thinking, technical communication, and troubleshooting.
