Base Salary
$200k - $270k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build, evolve, and operate the Capabilities Engine as a core platform for agentic product behavior.
- Design reusable abstractions for agents and contact-method systems to discover, invoke, compose, observe, and improve capabilities.
- Develop evaluation loops using offline tests, production metrics, traces, regression suites, and qualitative review.
- Improve reliability, latency, cost, observability, safety, recovery, and operational quality for capability execution in production.
- Debug failures across model behavior, tool execution, orchestration, product constraints, and downstream systems.
- Translate ambiguous product needs into technical plans, prototypes, and durable production systems.
- Collaborate with product, design, data, platform, operations, and other partners to build useful and safe capabilities.
- Mentor engineers and help shape technical direction, standards, documentation, and operational expectations.
Requirements
- Experience shipping production software with strong engineering fundamentals.
- Hands-on experience or strong practical familiarity with LLM applications, agentic systems, tool calling, retrieval, workflow orchestration, or applied AI products.
- Ability to design platform abstractions and shared services that support multiple teams or product surfaces.
- Strong product judgment, communication skills, debugging ability, and comfort working through ambiguity.
- Experience with production LLM applications, agentic systems, workflow engines, tool-calling systems, or AI-powered product surfaces is strongly preferred.
- Experience with capability platforms, shared services, orchestration systems, reusable product infrastructure, evaluation systems, or observability systems is strongly preferred.
- Experience with TypeScript, Node, GraphQL, and Postgres is strongly preferred.
- Experience improving reliability, alerting, tracing, incident response, operational quality, customer trust, permissions, explainability, and recovery paths is beneficial.
- Motivation to mentor and grow other engineers and focus on measurable customer and operational impact.
