Responsibilities
- Build training, evaluation, packaging, and deployment pipelines for versioned ML model releases.
- Deploy and serve models on Kubernetes with GPUs in cloud, on-premise, and air-gapped environments.
- Package models, weights, and dependencies for offline installation and upgrades.
- Manage GPU scheduling, drivers, utilization, and cost across cloud and on-premise hardware.
- Track data, experiments, and model lineage to support reproducibility and auditing.
- Monitor production models for performance, drift, and failures without relying on external connectivity.
- Develop Python tooling and contribute to the AI model codebase.
- Identify problems, propose solutions, and drive implementation with high autonomy.
Requirements
- Senior hands-on engineering experience; this is not an engineering manager or architect role.
- Proven experience deploying and operating ML models in production, beyond model training alone.
- Strong Python skills and the ability to read and modify ML code, including PyTorch or similar frameworks.
- Hands-on Kubernetes and container experience, including GPU workloads.
- Experience with infrastructure as code and CI/CD for ML, such as Terraform, Helm, or GitHub Actions.
- Daily use of AI tools for engineering tasks including code, configuration, and test generation and review.
- Motivation to work on technology used by defense forces.
- Preferred experience deploying models to on-premise, edge, or air-gapped environments.
- Preferred experience with model serving and optimization technologies including Triton, TorchServe, KServe, ONNX, TensorRT, and quantization.
- Preferred experience with computer vision or geospatial data such as satellite, SAR, raster, or PostGIS.
- Preferred experience with MLflow, Kubeflow, Argo Workflows, DVC, or Weights & Biases.
- Preferred experience processing imagery at scale with Dask, Ray, Spark, or object storage.
- A strong individual-contributor track record in a startup or fast-changing company is preferred.
- Clear communication and effective collaboration with researchers and experienced engineers are preferred.
