Responsibilities
- Collaborate with architects, QA, product, documentation, and UX teams to design and implement core authentication features.
- Propose technical strategy and align on tactical and long-term roadmaps.
- Produce technical designs, proposals, and architectural decisions for scalable enterprise systems.
- Develop maintainable Java software components with comprehensive unit and functional tests.
- Design and build scalable distributed systems and RESTful APIs while optimizing performance.
- Participate in code reviews and uphold coding standards and secure coding practices.
- Contribute to technical documentation and knowledge sharing.
- Lead, mentor, and coach junior engineers.
Requirements
- 12+ years of hands-on experience designing and developing enterprise software using Java with Spring Boot.
- Deep proficiency in object-oriented programming, design patterns, server-side technologies, distributed systems, caching, asynchronous processing, multithreading, and performance optimization.
- Expert understanding of secure coding, authentication and authorization protocols including FIDO2/WebAuthn, SSO, OAuth, OIDC, and SAML, and identity management concepts.
- Experience designing and building scalable distributed systems and RESTful APIs.
- Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills for complex Java codebases.
- Experience with AWS, GCP, databases, Agile methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, and automation tools.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills across cross-functional and geographically distributed teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
- At least 8 years of experience designing and building enterprise-grade Java software at scale.
- Experience with phishing-resistant authentication such as Passkeys, Smart Card, or Okta FastPass is preferred.
- Basic UI development experience is preferred.
