Responsibilities
- Collaborate with AMD architecture specialists and silicon teams to improve future networking and embedded products.
- Design and develop embedded firmware, system software, device drivers, and high-performance network stacks.
- Participate in ASIC and FPGA bring-up activities.
- Debug and fix existing issues using embedded debugging techniques and tools.
- Apply data-driven analysis to prioritize optimization efforts.
- Research more efficient implementation approaches and stay informed about relevant software, hardware, algorithm, and architecture trends.
- Develop technical relationships with peers and partners and drive complex issues to resolution.
Requirements
- Strong object-oriented programming background with C/C++ preferred.
- Proven commercial software development experience in C and Embedded C.
- Experience working at silicon or networking companies and at the hardware/software interface.
- Experience with Python and other scripting languages.
- Knowledge of hardware/software codesign, Ethernet, and TCP/IP.
- Experience with embedded systems, ideally including system software and device drivers.
- Understanding of server system architectures such as PCI-Express.
- Experience with Linux systems.
- Familiarity with debuggers, source code control systems such as GitHub, and profilers is a plus.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
