Base Salary

$87k - $157k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain microservices-based applications using modern software engineering practices.
  • Collaborate with product owners, architects, systems engineers, and program teams to translate requirements into working software.
  • Participate in Agile/SAFe ceremonies including sprint planning, standups, reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Contribute to system architecture discussions, technical decisions, and higher-level architectural designs.
  • Integrate services with databases, messaging systems, and external APIs.
  • Troubleshoot systems, tune performance, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Develop clean, maintainable, and testable code using CI/CD and DevSecOps practices.
  • Implement unit, integration, contract, and end-to-end automated testing strategies.
  • Use AI-assisted development tools for coding, refactoring, debugging, codebase analysis, and test creation.
  • Work with QA, DevOps, and platform teams to support reliable delivery.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 4 years of relevant experience, or a master’s degree with at least 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Hands-on experience building and supporting microservices-based systems.
  • Proficiency in at least one modern programming language such as Java, Python, or C++ on a Linux-based system.
  • Experience leveraging AI-assisted engineering tools and exposure to AI/ML-enabled systems, automation, or intelligent platforms such as Claude-Code.
  • Ability to analyze complex distributed systems, software interfaces, data flows, and large existing codebases.
  • Experience enhancing and maintaining existing software while preserving operational stability.
  • Ability to abstract complex implementation details into architectural concepts and communicate them effectively.
  • Understanding of APIs, distributed-system concepts, and Agile environments.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust investigation and successfully complete required government background investigations.
  • U.S. citizenship required.
  • Preferred qualifications include experience with large-scale distributed systems, safety-critical or high-availability software, legacy-system integration, Git-based version control, CI/CD pipelines, SAFe, relational or NoSQL databases, Kafka or other event-streaming technologies, AWS, Azure, GCP, Docker, Kubernetes, DevSecOps, and automated test frameworks.
