Responsibilities
- Own the design, implementation, and validation of complex humanoid robot behaviors.
- Lead behavior planning and execution design, including task decomposition and failure handling.
- Build new autonomy capabilities that expand the robot's real-world functionality.
- Develop and evaluate manipulation strategies for various tasks and environments.
- Integrate robot behaviors with motion planning, controls, and hardware systems.
- Train and integrate learned policies into execution workflows.
- Integrate new tools and sensors into the behavior stack.
- Debug complex system-level failures using various methods.
- Mentor engineers through design and code reviews.
- Set technical direction and best practices for robot behavior development.
Requirements
- B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Robotics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in robotics software and autonomy systems.
- Demonstrated experience as a tech lead for complex robotics projects.
- Proficient in Python and C++, with experience in large codebases.
- Experience with behavior planning frameworks like behavior trees or state machines.
- Strong understanding of motion planning, object perception, and hardware interaction.
- Experience with complex algorithms and data pipelines.
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Strong ownership mindset focused on robustness and reliability.
