Senior Lead Infrastructure Engineer

- Architect and develop scalable, reliable, and high-performance electronic trading systems and infrastructure.
- Analyze complex systems and data, anticipate issues, mitigate risk, and resolve technical problems.
- Architect and implement cross-platform changes to resolve issues and modernize technology processes.
- Maintain detailed architecture, configuration, and change documentation and report on system performance and issues.
- Serve as the escalation point during major incidents and resolve issues quickly to reduce potential financial losses.
- Design, configure, and manage routing, switching, load balancers, and network traffic distribution.
- Use IXIA to validate throughput, latency, jitter, microburst behavior, packet loss, and realistic market-data and order-entry traffic.
- Automate network tasks and configurations using scripting and network automation tools.
- Ensure infrastructure engineering aligns with business requirements, compliance standards, risk controls, security, and business objectives.
- Advise junior engineers and technologists and consider upstream and downstream technical implications.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
- Formal training and certification such as CCNP, CCIE, or equivalent, with 5+ years of applied experience.
- Strong understanding of network architecture, protocols, TCP/IP, multicast, routing, and switching.
- Experience in network architecture, systems engineering, or a related field within financial services.
- Knowledge of infrastructure domains including hardware, databases, storage, deployment, integration, automation, scaling, resilience, and performance assessment.
- Hands-on experience using IXIA for realistic market-data and order-entry performance and traffic testing.
- Ability to use Python, Ansible, or similar tools to automate network tasks and configurations.
- Deep technical knowledge across multiple domains, including cloud technologies.
- Knowledge of network architecture components and technologies including processors, ASICs, FPGAs, port capabilities, packet forwarding, and buffers.
- Knowledge of Multicast, PIM, IGMP, Wireshark, and the Arista, Cisco, F5, and Fortinet product ranges.
- Preferred: budget-management exposure and familiarity with financial markets, trading platforms, market-data feeds, exchange connectivity, and electronic trading systems.
- Preferred: proficiency configuring Cisco routers and switches, including IOS and NX-OS, and expertise with Arista EOS and low-latency switching solutions.
- Preferred: in-depth knowledge of BGP, FHRP, and multicast.
