Base Salary
$127k - $208k/yr
Responsibilities
- Define technology vision, future-state architecture, solution strategies, guardrails, and multi-year roadmaps across the annuity ecosystem.
- Lead architecture reviews, design governance, critical technical decisions, and alignment between enterprise architecture and delivery execution.
- Modernize legacy annuity platforms and supporting ecosystems across policy administration, operations, servicing, distribution, and data platforms.
- Design reusable API, event, and integration frameworks for Guardian and third-party partner ecosystems.
- Drive application rationalization, platform simplification, technical debt reduction, cloud-native adoption, automation, observability, reliability engineering, and quality engineering practices.
- Partner with distributors, broker-dealers, RIAs, custodians, aggregators, technology providers, business teams, product teams, and architects.
- Explore opportunities involving artificial intelligence, intelligent automation, advanced analytics, and emerging technologies.
- Mentor engineers, architects, and delivery teams and communicate complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
- 10+ years of hands-on software engineering experience, including experience as a senior or lead engineer on enterprise platforms.
- Experience with policy administration systems, preferably annuities, and exposure to ALIP platforms.
- Strong experience with API-driven and event-driven architecture, distributed-system orchestration, and integration.
- Hands-on experience building web applications with Java, Spring Boot, .NET, Node.js, and AWS cloud-native development.
- Experience developing and maintaining front-end applications with React, TypeScript, and/or Next.js.
- Experience with SNS, SQS, Apache Kafka, and S3 integrations.
- Experience designing developer-friendly APIs using OpenAPI/Swagger and standards or frameworks including ACORD, IRI Digital First, ACORD NGDS, and DTCC Insurance & Retirement Services.
- Experience with Git, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, OAuth 2.0, JWT, token-based authentication, Splunk, and AppDynamics.
- Experience with JSON/XML, caching, performance analysis, and profiling.
- Demonstrated ability to lead engineering teams, influence technical decisions, review code, and collaborate with architects, product leaders, and business stakeholders.
- Large-scale transformation program or platform migration experience is highly preferred.
- Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with teammates who are remote or in different time zones.
