Responsibilities

Define standards and vision for the observability platform.
Design and implement observability improvements for diagnosing production issues.
Handle production customer escalations and coach teammates.
Write and improve production-ready database code.
Own the quality and maintainability of the Observability Team's code.
Diagnose test failures and fix bugs in existing code.
Investigate performance impacts of code changes.
Interview candidates for advanced software engineering positions.
Develop expertise on cutting-edge database and observability developments.
Lead development and project management of large projects.
Collaborate with stakeholders on large initiatives.
Advise Product Management on technical product direction.
Collaborate with leadership to define product roadmaps.
Champion and improve unit and integration tests.
Work with customers and support engineers to fix issues.

Minimum 12 years of experience in designing and programming distributed systems.
Experience with latency-sensitive, high throughput systems.
Strong systems fundamentals including multi-threaded programming.
Familiarity with database internals or core components for data processing.
Familiarity with observability ecosystem and best practices.
Excellent verbal and written technical communication skills.
Strong time and project management skills.
Good understanding of information security management.
