Responsibilities
- Design, provision, configure, and evolve cloud environments using version-controlled Terraform modules and automated deployment pipelines.
- Migrate legacy workloads, storage layers, and data pipelines from AWS and Azure to GCP.
- Build and optimize data-platform primitives, analytics platforms, and batch and streaming pipeline orchestration.
- Translate security, privacy, compliance, and risk requirements into automated IAM, network, secrets-management, data-classification, and encryption controls.
- Implement observability, monitoring, alerting, logging, telemetry, rollback paths, runbooks, documentation, and deployment evidence.
- Use AI coding assistants and LLM workflows to accelerate automation, troubleshooting, documentation, and code reviews.
- Manage cloud cost and capacity through labeling, monitoring, cost-control policies, and lifecycle practices.
Requirements
- Ability to read, reason about, and debug code, data pipelines, and infrastructure across multiple technical layers.
- Foundational cloud engineering knowledge in AWS, Azure, or GCP, with hands-on capability or willingness to specialize in GCP.
- Hands-on experience or strong capability with declarative Infrastructure as Code, state management, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Working knowledge of modern data-platform primitives and tools such as BigQuery, Redshift, Airflow, Cloud Composer, Pub/Sub, Kafka, Dataflow, or dbt.
- Ability to use AI tools while critically validating their outputs for safety and performance.
- Pragmatic judgment regarding independent iteration versus escalation of critical security, privacy, and architecture decisions.
- Broad technical curiosity, self-direction, operational discipline, and ownership of production-ready services.
