Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture, design, and development of scalable platform engineering solutions.
- Build reusable platform frameworks, services, Kubernetes Operators, controllers, and automation using Go.
- Design, develop, and maintain Kubernetes Operators using Operator SDK or Kubebuilder.
- Own the technical roadmap, architecture, code quality, and delivery of platform initiatives.
- Drive technical decisions and establish engineering best practices across platform teams.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Product Management, Infrastructure, Security, and SRE teams on secure, scalable, and resilient platform capabilities.
- Conduct architecture, design, and code reviews while mentoring and coaching engineers.
- Troubleshoot complex production issues involving Kubernetes, networking, distributed systems, and cloud infrastructure.
- Improve platform scalability, performance, reliability, security, observability, and developer productivity through automation.
Requirements
- 10+ years of software engineering experience focused on cloud-native platform engineering.
- Deep expertise in Kubernetes architecture, controllers, CRDs, Operators, networking, storage, security, RBAC, Helm, and production-scale cluster operations.
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, TLS, load balancing, ingress, CNI, network policies, routing, firewalls, and distributed networking troubleshooting.
- Extensive Go experience building scalable backend services, Kubernetes Operators, controllers, and automation frameworks.
- Extensive experience designing, deploying, and operating production workloads on Azure Kubernetes Service, including hundreds of AKS clusters at scale.
- Proven experience developing and maintaining Kubernetes Operators with Operator SDK or Kubebuilder.
- Strong experience with GitHub workflows, CI/CD pipeline design and implementation, and GitOps practices using Argo CD.
- Experience designing scalable platform frameworks, internal developer platforms, and reusable engineering services.
- Demonstrated ownership of architecture and technical decisions, team deliverables, code reviews, and engineer mentoring.
- Preferred experience includes Cloudflare CDN and edge networking, MongoDB, Azure security services, observability platforms, Istio, multi-cluster Kubernetes, disaster recovery, capacity planning, and software supply chain security.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, collaboration, ownership, and complex problem-solving skills.
