Base Salary
$190k - $322k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead hardware, software, and algorithms architecture for real-time video processing, image sensing, and intra-body illumination systems.
- Integrate cameras, image sensors, FPGA/ISP components, video-processing pipelines, and software across multi-processor embedded architectures.
- Evaluate embedded vision architecture trade-offs through technical deep dives, proof-of-concept development, and rapid iteration.
- Lead camera and image-sensor bring-up, configuration, integration, and evaluation of video-processing algorithms.
- Diagnose vision-system issues from sensors and optics through video pipelines and software, leading root-cause investigations.
- Develop color and power-control functions for intra-operative illumination.
- Lead formal risk analyses, identify hardware requirements, and develop software mitigations.
- Design simulation environments and hardware/software diagnostic tools for development, debugging, and testing.
- Develop, document, verify, and validate embedded vision software and supervisory state machines in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Extend video and vision processing frameworks to new hardware platforms.
- Mentor and guide engineers across the vision team.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a similar technical field.
- At least 12 years of embedded-systems development and support experience with significant video, imaging, or vision focus, or 8 years with a master's degree or 5 years with a PhD.
- Fluency in C/C++ development for embedded, real-time, Linux-based systems, including application-level and driver-level work on multi-core and multi-processor architectures.
- Deep experience integrating cameras, image sensors, and vision-processing pipelines across hardware, software, and algorithm interfaces.
- Experience debugging complex vision systems through root-cause investigation and cross-functional collaboration.
- Experience with imaging devices, camera and sensor bring-up, configuration, and integration.
- Fluency with image-processing concepts, camera-pipeline video-processing algorithms, and video-processing frameworks.
- Working knowledge of Python or other scripting languages for diagnostics, automation, and testing.
- Experience across the product-development lifecycle, including design, documentation, implementation, debugging, verification, validation, and manufacturing transfer.
- Preferred knowledge of image processing, CUDA, machine learning, FPGA integration, Vivado, and other FPGA development tools.
- Preferred familiarity with TCP/IP, CAN, serialization protocols, rapid-development tools, regulated industries, medical technology, and mission-critical applications.
- Preferred experience leading medical-technology projects through field validation and launch, and mentoring employees at all levels.
