Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Design, build, test, and ship Android experiences for Venmo Commerce.
- Develop reusable user interfaces with Kotlin and Jetpack Compose within Venmo’s mobile architecture.
- Own features from technical design and implementation through experimentation, launch, observability, and iteration.
- Integrate mobile experiences with backend APIs, payments, identity, risk, search, recommendations, analytics, and platform capabilities.
- Build performant, resilient, accessible, secure, and intuitive experiences across Android devices.
- Instrument product funnels and experiments and use customer behavior data to improve outcomes.
- Collaborate with iOS engineers to deliver coherent cross-platform experiences using Android-native patterns.
- Participate in architecture, technical design, and code reviews.
- Debug production issues and contribute to the operational health of commerce experiences.
Requirements
- At least one year of relevant experience and a bachelor’s degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Production experience building Android applications with Kotlin.
- Production experience with Jetpack Compose, Coroutines, and Flow.
- Strong architecture fundamentals, including MVVM or MVI, multi-module Gradle, and dependency injection with Hilt.
- Experience integrating REST or GraphQL APIs with Retrofit and OkHttp, including caching and offline handling.
- Experience with JUnit, MockK, and Compose UI tests.
- Clear written communication and willingness to own features end to end.
- Payments or fintech experience, PCI DSS awareness, Android Keystore, biometric authentication, feature flags, experimentation, accessibility, or marketplace and ecommerce experience are preferred.
