Site Reliability Engineer
Recorded FutureResponsibilities
- Ensure platform performance, capacity, scalability, reliability, resiliency, security, compliance, support, cost efficiency, SLAs, SLOs, RPOs, and RTOs.
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable and reliable infrastructure on AWS.
- Develop and manage observability solutions using Grafana, Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana, and Prometheus.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration with Terraform and Chef.
- Perform root cause analyses for outages and drive systemic improvements for recurring issues.
- Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation to resolve production incidents.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to design applications for high availability and resilience.
- Identify performance bottlenecks and potential reliability issues proactively.
- Drive continuous improvement through automation, process optimization, and post-incident reviews.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience as a Site Reliability Engineer, DevOps Engineer, or in a similar role.
- Extensive hands-on AWS experience, including deep knowledge of AWS networking.
- Advanced Linux skills covering engineering fundamentals, networking, storage, and operating systems.
- Expert troubleshooting and diagnostic skills with a record of reducing system downtime.
- Experience with observability suites such as Grafana and the ELK Stack.
- Strong proficiency in Terraform and Chef, with a preference for Infrastructure as Code and automation.
- Ability to understand complex architectures and create clear incident reports and technical documentation.
- Preferred experience with Kubernetes, RabbitMQ, Apache Kafka, MongoDB, Elasticsearch, OpenTelemetry, distributed systems, microservices architecture, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong collaboration, communication, self-motivation, and composure during outages.
