Base Salary
$147k - $193k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable data ingestion and curation pipelines from diverse sources.
- Use Python, SQL, dbt/Dataform, Java, and Spring Boot to build reliable data and streaming pipelines.
- Build and manage cloud data platforms using GCP services including BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, and Cloud Functions.
- Implement data governance, access controls, and security best practices for sensitive data.
- Manage workflows and cloud infrastructure with Astronomer, Airflow, and Terraform.
- Monitor and improve pipeline and storage performance, scalability, efficiency, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Collaborate with architects, service owners, and cross-functional teams on cloud data engineering practices and frameworks.
- Automate data platform processes, translate business requirements into data designs, communicate technical decisions, and document engineering processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Seven years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the offered role or a related occupation.
- Seven years of experience using Java and Spring Boot to stream and decode connected-vehicle data.
- Five years of experience with real-time streaming technologies including Kafka, Pub/Sub, OpenShift, Cloud Run, or Dataflow.
- Five years of experience with Spanner, PostgreSQL, or BigQuery databases.
- Three years of experience with Apache Beam, Spring Boot, Dataflow, Airflow, BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Cloud Build, or Cloud Run on GCP cloud data implementation projects.
- Three years of experience using Spring Boot for high-volume streaming.
- Two years of experience managing large volumes of connected-vehicle data using OpenShift, Kafka, or Dataflow.
- One year of experience using Jira in Agile environments for task management and sprint tracking.
