Base Salary
$142k - $213k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance back-office trading applications using clean code, SOLID principles, and modern design patterns.
- Implement trunk-based development, feature flags, progressive delivery, CI/CD, infrastructure as code, DevOps practices, and automated testing.
- Build distributed, event-driven microservices using Kafka, Solace, Tibco, and MQ for low-latency and highly available trading systems.
- Apply TDD, BDD, secure coding, vulnerability assessments, and rigorous code reviews to maintain quality and security.
- Collaborate on scalable system architectures and technical design documentation with architects, product owners, and cross-functional teams.
- Optimize deployment pipelines, observability tooling, production monitoring, and resilience in partnership with DevOps teams.
- Lead technical discussions, mentor junior engineers, and promote continuous learning and engineering excellence.
- Support mortgage workflow re-engineering, equity growth and resiliency initiatives, and AI workflow work within the cash securities domain.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, or industry equivalent experience is required; a master’s degree is preferred.
- Strong hands-on proficiency in Kotlin, Java, and Python for production-grade enterprise applications.
- Deep expertise in microservices architecture, system design, Spring Boot, distributed systems, high availability, fault tolerance, and low-latency computing.
- Experience with Kafka, Solace, Tibco, and MQ, including high-throughput data pipelines.
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and OpenShift.
- Solid experience with relational databases, particularly Oracle SQL, in high-performance transactional environments.
- Experience with trunk-based development, feature flags, progressive delivery, TDD, BDD, automation-first testing, and high test coverage.
- Proficiency in CI/CD pipeline design and operation, DevOps principles, secure coding, and vulnerability assessment methodologies.
- Experience conducting code reviews, leading technical discussions, mentoring engineers, and working in cross-functional agile product teams.
- Familiarity with performance tuning, observability, and production monitoring in distributed, high-availability financial systems.
