Responsibilities
- Maintain understanding of AHS architecture, dependencies, and safety constraints and translate it into risk-based test plans and automated coverage.
- Define and execute end-to-end quality strategy across functional, performance, security, compatibility, and cross-functional testing.
- Design, implement, and enhance automation frameworks, service virtualization, contract testing, and containerized test environments.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines with infrastructure-as-code provisioning, versioned test data, and regression suites.
- Lead manual edge-case and exploratory testing, automate appropriate coverage, and publish quality and defect-trend dashboards.
- Facilitate blameless postmortems, identify systemic issues, and create preventative automated checks.
- Support compatibility matrices, deployment configurations, field installation, configuration, and on-site validation.
- Mentor engineers, champion test-development coding standards, pilot productivity tools, and coordinate quality-practice improvements.
- Travel internationally and to other locations for up to 10% of the time.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software/systems engineering, or a related discipline; a master’s degree is a plus.
- At least 6 years of combined software or systems testing experience, including at least 4 years building and scaling test automation.
- Experience taking projects from requirements scoping through production operations and defining test strategies for complex, distributed, or real-time systems.
- Proficiency in at least one automation programming language: Java, Python, or C#.
- Strong REST/gRPC API and UI automation experience.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD, containerization, and infrastructure-as-code for on-demand test environments.
- Ability to mentor, influence, and up-level QA and development teams.
- At least 5 years of full software development life-cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, and operations.
- Experience with event-driven microservices, REST APIs, network protocols, network programming, and distributed-application debugging and analysis.
- Strong analytical, documentation, and technical communication skills with technical and non-technical audiences.
