Responsibilities
- Own and lead architecture efforts for complex products, including design documentation, technology evaluation, and performance, scalability, resiliency, and compliance requirements.
- Improve AI tools and practices across the software development lifecycle and guide Responsible AI adoption.
- Mentor engineers and lead test strategy creation and execution, including security testing and AI-assisted automation.
- Establish code invariants, collaborate with security partners, and implement AI safety features for production systems.
- Drive partner-team collaboration for end-to-end integration, scalability, performance, and live-site readiness.
- Improve code quality through mentoring and modern coding patterns and tools.
- Maintain live-service operational integrity through rotational on-call work, monitoring, and issue resolution.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field and 8+ years of technical engineering experience with coding in C, C++, C#, Java, or Python, or equivalent experience.
- Experience developing large-scale distributed systems using cloud technologies such as Azure or AWS.
- Ability to meet Microsoft Cloud Background Check and other applicable security screening requirements.
- Preferred: master’s degree with 10+ years of experience, or bachelor’s degree with 12+ years of experience, or equivalent experience.
- Preferred: advanced knowledge of SQL/NoSQL technologies and high-availability database design.
- Preferred: troubleshooting experience with service-oriented products, distributed-system management, and architectural and technical system design.
- Preferred: 6+ years of software development experience building low-latency, high-throughput, highly reliable services.
- Preferred: awareness of agile software development methods and phased feature delivery.
