Responsibilities
- Lead architecture efforts for complex products, including design documentation and technology evaluations.
- Design and develop solutions meeting performance, scalability, resiliency, security, and compliance requirements.
- Improve artificial intelligence tools and practices across the software development lifecycle using Responsible AI practices.
- Mentor engineers and lead the creation and execution of test strategies, including security testing and AI-assisted automation.
- Establish code invariants, partner with security teams, and implement AI safety features for production systems.
- Coordinate partner teams for end-to-end integration, scalability, performance, and live-site readiness.
- Improve code quality through mentoring and adoption of extensible, well-tested, secure, and performant coding practices.
- Maintain live-service operational integrity through rotational on-call support, monitoring, and issue resolution.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field and 8+ years of technical engineering experience with coding in C, C++, C#, Java, or Python, or equivalent experience.
- Experience developing large-scale distributed systems using cloud technologies such as Azure or AWS.
- Ability to meet Microsoft Cloud Background Check and applicable customer or government security screening requirements.
- Preferred: master's degree with 10+ years of technical engineering experience, or bachelor's degree with 12+ years, or equivalent experience.
- Preferred: advanced knowledge of SQL/NoSQL technologies and highly available database design.
- Preferred: troubleshooting experience with service-oriented products.
- Preferred: awareness of agile software development methods and phased feature delivery.
- Preferred: 6+ years of software development experience building low-latency, high-throughput, highly reliable services.
- Preferred: proficiency in distributed system management and strong architectural and technical system design skills.
