Responsibilities
- Write, maintain, and execute test cases for studio games across mobile and web platforms, devices, operating systems, and browsers.
- Perform functional and non-functional testing, including network traffic analysis, API response validation, and log analysis.
- Design and execute exploratory, regression, risk-based, and feature-specific testing.
- Collaborate with Scrum teams, producers, developers, QA leads, managers, and business stakeholders to support high-quality releases.
- Participate in defect triage, root cause analysis, and corrective and preventive action planning.
- Identify quality trade-offs and project risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Create and maintain test cases, test plans, test reports, training materials, and process documentation.
- Develop knowledge of gameplay flows, player journeys, edge cases, and game-specific scenarios.
- Mentor junior QA team members and support their technical and domain development.
- Partner with the QA Lead to improve QA processes, test coverage, and release quality.
- Support team coordination and delivery when the QA Lead is unavailable.
Requirements
- 4–7 years of experience in software testing, preferably involving mobile, web, or gaming products.
- Strong familiarity with mobile and web platforms from a QA perspective.
- Understanding of client-server architecture, APIs, application data flow, and network debugging.
- Hands-on experience with test design, test execution, defect reporting, regression testing, and risk-based testing.
- Strong exploratory testing skills and the ability to select testing approaches based on feature complexity and risk.
- Experience with QA tools such as Jira, TestRail, Charles Proxy, Fiddler, browser developer tools, or similar tools.
- Ability to create clear and comprehensive QA documentation.
- Understanding of software testing processes, SDLC/STLC, and Agile methodologies.
- Basic knowledge of SQL and database concepts.
- Strong communication, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience testing mobile games, web games, or live-service products is preferred.
- Understanding of gaming mechanics, player behavior, engagement, progression, rewards, and LiveOps is desirable.
- Prior experience with slots, casino, or real-money/social casino-style games is desirable.
- Exposure to test automation frameworks and AI-driven testing approaches is desirable.
